Another 142 Bangladeshi expatriates returned home from the Libyan detention center. They landed at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Friday (May 27) at 9:30 pm on an IOM-chartered Libyan Borak Air flight.

The Libyan embassy in Libya said in a statement that their registration with the IOM was being completed in stages. In the wake of this, 142 more Bangladeshis were repatriated in the second phase of the detention camp on a chartered flight of IOM.

The embassy said in a statement that it was making efforts to repatriate the rest as soon as possible. A day before this, that is, last Thursday, another 160 Bangladeshis returned to the country in the same way. They have been repatriated through the efforts of the Bangladesh Embassy and with the assistance of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

APBN Additional Superintendent of Police. Ziaul Haque told Probas Times that 142 Bangladeshi expatriates returned to the country on a Borak Air flight at 9.30 pm. Meanwhile, about 500 Bangladeshi migrants have returned from Libya in the last one week.
