Shah Rukh Khan’s eldest son, Aryan Khan was arrested after a raid at a rave party on a cruise ship last year. And a case was subsequently filed against him for allegedly possessing drugs.

Citing lack of sufficient evidence, India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) dropped charges against Aryan on Friday, May 27.

In the 6000-page charge sheet, the 23-year-old was documented as one of the 20 people arrested last year, but he has not been named as an accused.

“All the accused persons were found in possession of narcotics except Aryan and Mohawk,” read a statement by a senior NCB official.

NCB chief SN Pradhan also reported that there had been “irregularities” at the initial stage of the case.

Aryan’s lawyer Mukul Rohatgi said, “I am very relieved and so must be my clients, including Shah Rukh Khan. Ultimately, truth has prevailed.”

“There was no material to charge this young man or arrest him. No drugs were found on him. I am happy that the NCB acted professionally in admitting their mistake.”

Aryan Khan had spent 22 days in Mumbai jail and was in the crosshairs of a social media frenzy.
